Waterwax is the perfect accompaniment to our SPG gloves but is also ideal for proofing other leather products. Concocted from all natural beeswax, plant oils and plant resins, Waterwax has been formulated for prolonged use in wet environments.

The products used in Waterwax have a natural colouring, when used a mild darkening of the leather may occur.

"I was in the Grebe Valley - a place of swampy frost hollows and excellent red tussock flats. It's just up the road from Borland Lodge where I run DOC Education Programmes for Southland and Otago schools. I had a group of school kids with me learning about the biggest hard rock landslide in the world (26 cubic km). We plugged through some snow, swamp bashed and walked into a hut for the night, did some track and hut maintenance and generally learnt about Fiordland. My job at Borland often entails me standing in creeks for large periods of the day (looking at bugs in the creeks) and I get wet feet if the waterproofing isn't up to it. The Waterwax is the best product I've tried as it has excellent abrasion resistance and dosen't collect too much grit into the folds of the boots. I've even put it onto my "town" boots and it looks fine.

Since the last email, I did another 2 days tramping and still haven't needed to rewax the boots unlike the previous products I have used.(I've tried at least five different products in the last 2 years). Now the quest is over!
