HD Dreadnought
Dreadnoughts are our revolutionary ski trousers. Constructed from 12oz C-Canvas they are the jeans of the ski slope. Extremely tough these babies will out last any other trousers on the slope and as we say on the swing tag 'Wear in not out' (although there is no reason why you shouldn't say wear them out to a bar or something you understand).
The whole idea was that hanging out for the season on the slopes usually leaves you financially, well - lets say, embattled. We found that the standard seam sealed waterproof breathable was fine for the first few weeks but didn't last (it's the mountains after all), they also hit the wallet hard. They certainly didn't represent what we thought was a fair dollar per hours used ratio.
We have to pay homage to Mark Schafer here, all round Telemark guru and ex Cactus employee. He made a few pairs of canvas pants and wore them around for a few years and they were obviously excellent. So we started from there (he also famously made some full body blue canvas overalls - which we haven't yet)
For 2006 the HD's have benefited from a complete redesign they now fit better, have an extended foreleg protection, removable padding in the knee, and have two pockets. Excellent.
- Super durable and highly wearable 12oz C-Canvas to help when you are looking down the barrel of a full season with a questionable amount of cash
- High back waist design for good overlap/warmth
- Pre-bent leg to keep movement free when it's all happening fast
- Webbing cinch cuffs for locking the snow out
- 2 handy front zip pockets for your lip stuff/cash etc
- Colour : Black
- Weight : 1210grams
- Fabrics : C-Canvas,C-600n-6
- Our canvas has a water resistant coating which can shift and discolour through the initial break in period
- Use mild detergent or pure soap (preferably one that's nice to the earth)
- For best results handwash until the garment is broken in machine washing is fine after this
- Drip dry without creases (it won't take long as the polyester in the fabric doesn't hold much water)
- Close zips while washing (they'll last longer)
- If you get attacked by a pig and the fabric gets holed while saving your reproductive potential send it back and we'll patch it

Since my sister bought these as a present for me 5yrs ago, haven't used any other pants on the snow since. Haven't needed to either. Fact, they're
so tough and durable that I've had to give em away so that I can justify buying the newer version!!

I can't speak enough of these pants. I've only tried them out a couple of times so far this year snowboarding in the Australian Snowy Mountains but
the terrain was patchy and icy and these pants handled no problem while my brand new top of the range goretex pants ripped last year in much better
conditions. Extremely weatherproof and still very good movement for such heavy duty pants. Slightly heavier but who cares as you quickly get used to
them. I can see these lasting a solid five to ten years with frequent use. At the start of every season you'd just need to reproof the canvas I reckon
but I was in moderate rain and snow conditions and it just beaded off and I stayed bone dry. Don't go for goretex - go the Dreadnoughts.

These pants are kicking like Bruce Lee.Solid and reliable in all conditions.Highly weather proof and very fast drying with a bullet proof powder cuff
that will keep snow out no matter how long you may need to boot pack in them.Made from one of the most underated fabrics known to man/womankind.I've
skied, climbed and partied in these or an early Mark Schafer prodytype since 1996,over 10 years and 13 winters and still only on my second pair.Just
the bomb for powder fevered ski bums, and when getting on the loose at Apres Ski Chamonix style!
